January 21 – 29 2012 the world’s best junior surfers descend on the Gold Coast for the Billabong World Junior Championship. Competition will be staged at Burleigh Heads an iconic surf location and soon to be named one of five Gold Coast National Surfing Reserves.
The Burleigh Heads name has always been at the heart of world competitive surfing. The famous “Burleigh Barrell” is just part of a complete wave that enables surfers to show off the very best of their talents. The Burleigh Headland forms a natural amphitheater that harnesses the excitement of the crowd and gives everyone a great view of the action.
With some decent swell predicted to roll in during the contest period make sure you get down to Burleigh to get amongst the electric atmosphere on the hill. This is the final event of the 2011 World Junior Championship of Surfing.
